One of the interesting things about tea is that in the 19th century the working classes started drinking it in a big way too. I love that in rural areas, workers would often take a bottle of cold tea out to drink in the fields (whether milk and sugar were involved, I’ve no idea).

Interesting question Mick. As far as I can glean, sugar was part of the cuppa as it was much more affordable than tea for the working classes. …milk was a later addition.
